Pradakshina means to walk clockwise around a temple or holy place. We always walk so the temple is on our right. As we walk, we forget the outside world. We clear our minds as we approach the Deity inside the temple. As we leave the holy temple, we take Siva’s blessings with us out into the world. We carry these blessings in our heart. Sometimes people roll around the temple. This is very hard to do. They are asking God for forgiveness for something they did.§

பிரதட்சணம் என்பது கோயில் அல்லது புனித இடங்களை வலம் வருதலாகும். நாம் எப்போதும் நடக்கும்பொழுது கோயில் நமக்கு வலப் பக்கம் இருக்குமாறு பார்த்துக் கொள்ள வேண்டும். நாம் நடக்கும் பொழுது வெளி உலகத்தை மறந்து விடுகிறோம். கோயில் உள்ளே இருக்கும் விக்கிரகத்தை நெருங்கும்போது நமது மனத்திலுள்ளவை எல்லாம் நீங்கி தூய்மையாகிறது. நாம் கோயிலை விட்டுச் செல்லும்பொழுது சிவபெருமானின் ஆசியை உலகத்துக்கு எடுத்துச் செல்கிறோம். அவருடைய ஆசீர்வாதத்தை நம் மனத்துள் வைத்துக் கொண்டு செல்கிறோம். சில வேளைகளில் பக்தர்கள் கோயிலைச் சுற்றி அங்கப்பிரதட்சணம் செய்வார்கள். இதைச் செய்ய சற்று கடினமாயிருக்கும். அவர்கள் செய்த தவறுகளுக்காக இறைவனிடம் மன்னிப்பு கேட்பதற்காக இவ்வாறு அங்கப் பிரதட்சணம் செய்கிறார்கள். §

கோயிலின் உள்ளே நுழைவதற்கு முன்பு, பக்தர்கள் கோயிலைச் சுற்றி மெல்ல நடக்கிறார்கள். தனிப்பட்ட பரிகாரத்துக்காகச் (செய்தத் தவற்றுக்காகச்) சிலர் கோயிலைச்சுற்றி உருண்டு செல்கின்றனர். (அங்கப்பிரதட்சணம்) §
Pradakshina bermaksud berjalan ikut arah jam mengelilingi kuil atau tempat suci. Kita selalu berjalan dengan kuil berkedudukan di sebelah kanan kita. Semasa berjalan kita harus melupakan dunia luar. Kita juga harus menenangkan fikiran sewaktu menghampiri ikon Tuhan (Vigraha) di dalam kuil. Semasa kita keluar dari kuil, kita membawa pulang restu daripada Tuhan Siva dalam hati kita. Kadang-kadang terdapat orang yang bergolek mengelilingi kuil. Amalan ini agak susah untuk dilakukan. Mereka ini meminta pengampunan untuk sesuatu yang telah mereka lakukan.§

Para penganut berjalan mengelilingi kuil sebelum masuk. Beberapa orang pula sedang bergolek mengelilingi kuil sebagai tanda meminta pengampunan khas.§
Pradakshina, c’est la marche autour d’un temple ou d'un lieu saint dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre. Le temple reste à notre droite. Tout en marchant, nous oublions le monde. Nous nous libérons l’esprit en nous approchant de la Divinité à l’intérieur. En quittant le temple sacré, nous repartons dans dans le monde avec les bénédictions de Siva dans le cœur. Parfois, des gens se roulent autour du temple, ce qui est pénible. Ils le font pour demander pardon à Dieu pour avoir mal agi.§
