About Kauai's Hindu Monastery

Kauai's Hindu Monastery is first and foremost the seat of the Guru Mahasannidhanam of the Kailasa Parampara. Founded by Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami, the monastery begin in 1970 when Gurudeva first came to Kauai. Of all of his accomplishments, this monastery and the monastic order he founded are his greatest achievement. His successor, Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami and all the monks continue the work that Gurudeva started.

The monastery is a magical place of high ceremonies, constant daily religious practice and sadhana and the source of teachings that have spread across the globe. It is also becoming a significant pilgrimage destination with over 3,000 visitors a month making the trek to this small Hawaii island, which is the most remote land mass on earth.
