 While Gurudeva was a profound rishi and great mystic, working to guide his monks to the highest levels of consciousness through meditation, he was also a master at seeing the working of the mind from the lowest levels and how we had to deal with this also in our work. The purification of the subconscious had very practical implications from Gurudeva's point of view. After he discovered that so many Hindu boys and girls had been treated poorly by their parents he told the monks one day: "If we can help these young people find a way to face and let go of all the resentment that is buried so deep because of what they experienced at home when they were young, we will have done a great service, not only to them, but to the future of Hinduism."

Cybertalk: In part two of this second talk on anger, Bodhinatha goes into the second rung on the ladder of anger, "the cold shoulder." He summarizes the first two rungs by discussing the subtleness of these first two rungs and how important it is to avoid them because they stimulate the lower, instinctive chakras. He also talks about the problem of bringing anger home from work and disturbing the home, and the proper way of looking at dealing with anger from within our philosophy.

Thamby Kumaran (seated in the back) came for a high-tech tour with his son Jai (right) who is a second-year student in college and 12-year-old Hara (back left). We asked Hara what his impressions were of the publications facility and he said "Massive amount of technology packed into such a small place. " Jai iterated a similar sentiment. "I've never really been in such a high-powered place before, of course there are schools and things, but I mean to see all of you and the computers in a real work environment all networked together is an unusual experience for me. Jai, like his father is a fan of the surf and has hit the waves quite a bit while on vacation here in Hawaii.
Nathaniel, Vaishnavi and Kirthen from Boston. Vaishnavi's parents have been subscribing to Hinduism Today for about 15 years. They are of Sri Lankan origin. Nathaniel studied Hinduism before marriage to familiarize himself with the custom, culture and rituals.
Sannyasin Yoginathaswami is back on the job after traveling with Bodhinatha to Pennsylvania. Here he is with our local master of earthworks, Dennis Wong, consulting on the next step in upgrading our road from the monastery to Iraivan Temple.
The maha-roller arrived today and Dennis will do a great job. He has a special place in history as he also prepared the earth below the Iraivan Temple and worked on the three-foot bed of compacted gravel that lies under the foundation of the temple.

Our visitors this week are from Curepipe, a town in the centre of the island. They have heard about the Spiritual Park from a friend who recently visited the place. They were really delighted to be at the Ganesha Mandapam for the first time. Both young and old in the group were seen happily worshipping Pancha Mukha Ganapathi with incense sticks and flowers. The group is planning to come to one of the Ganesha Homas in the future.
Many are those who come to the Spiritual Park on weekends to do some karma yoga. One favourite activity of karma yogis is to help clean the property. Here are two happy men from the south of the island, Kartigeyan Manick and Ravin Doorgiat removing weeds at the entrance of the property.
Beatrit Gohez, is fom Peru and is married to a Mauritian Hindu. She likes the Hindu religion and culture and finds a lot of virtues in them that would help her child grow into a responsible citizen. She now lives with her new family in Florida, USA. Here we see her with her husband and Kulapati Amba Valaytan who knows them well.
Our young lady, Vandana Nathoo is very familiar with Gurudeva's teachings. She has come to several of our Youth Retreats in the past and has since then become a vegetarian. She has read almost all the books of Gurudeva and is now purchasing a copy of the new Living With Siva which Somandiren Peruman is selling to her from our little bookstore. Vandana works at the Hong Kong Bank in Port Louis.
Here are a few of the youngest students of the Himalayan Academy studying the Master Course series in Mauritius. Every Saturday before the class starts they worship at the sacred shrine of Dharmasala where is kept the Holy Tiruvadi of Gurudeva. Most of them are learning very quickly the main mantras of the simple version of the Atmartha Puja.
Here the group is chanting to the Gods while one of the boys is leading in front.
This is a very special local hibiscus plant is near the Dharmasala main building. When Gurudeva purchased the property n 1986, the plant was already there. Now it is in full bloom and we have never seen so many beautiful flowers on it as there are this month...
