Here is Sri-la-Sri Balagangadharanathaswami, the head of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt a very large institution in Karnataka that has many, many other institutions under its care, hospitals, Guru Kulams, homes for the blind, shelters for battered women and more. He was kind enough to give to the Iraivan temple 11 acres of land which were used for the carving site. Here he takes Swami Satchidananda out to point out one of the rare items of the temple.

Rev. Swami Satchidananda was visiting Tamil Nadu in India. . .his original home and he went to the carving site of the Iraivan temple for a visit. He approaches this chain that was carved right out of the granite rock.

Swami reaches down to pick it up.

An amazing piece of work!
